GMAT fun

I said I was going to write something about the GMAT at some point, and today seems as good a time as any. I took the GMAT at the end of December. I studied for it using the Princeton Review Prep course. It didn't really teach me all that much, but it did provide me with the discipline to study. Unfortunately, my project at work was very demanding about that time and I didn't study as much as I could have.

I was worried about finishing the Math section in enough time. I had struggled with that a little on my practice tests (which I thought were harder than the real thing). It was fine, though. I ended up breaking the magical 700 barrier. Pretty good, though I'm sure I could have done better. I decided not to retake the test.

I think studying is by far the easiest way to improve your score. Doing the practice problems again and again. I feel fairly confident that if you are reasonably intelligent, you can score well if you just study (I definitely should have done some more... but I really have promised myself to just let go of it... you can tell I'm doing so well, huh?;P).

I'm a little worried about my score b/c it's below the average (or around it) of the schools to which I plan to apply. Since I don't have a ton of work experience (although I feel what I do have is pretty valuable), I feel like every other part of my application has to be stellar. *sigh* I wish I could get this application process started already. I thought it would be great to get a head start by taking the GMAT early (and I do still think this relieves a lot of stress) and researching schools, but now I just feel like I'm waiting to get a move on. Argh.
